Heart of a Champion

"It was November 22, 1969. The unbeaten and top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes marched into Michigan Stadium, expecting a coronation of their second straight National Title. In an unprecedented turnaround, first year Wolverine coach Bo Schembechler led his underdog charges to a 24-12 triumph. It was one of the greatest upsets of college football history and established Bo as a national presence."

Bello Vino Marketplace, one of a few places, is proud to offer the inaugural vintage of "Bo Merlot." Bo's Merlot has beautiful deep ruby color with ripe berry and wonderful floral aromas. Excellent complexity and well rounded with integrated oak, black currant, cherry, plum and spice flavors that linger in a long concentrated, smooth finish. Come in and grab a bottle of great merlot and what's sure to be a collector's item for $19.69.

A contribution of $2.00 each bottle will go to the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center that cared for the Heart of a Champion.

New Wine? Maybe to Some!

Consumer research done for the Wine Institute has found that many wine drinkers are naturally adventurous, into the discovery of new wine flavors. You'll find Spanish white wines like albarinos, and malbecs from Mendoza Valley in Argentina, with a growing interest in Rieslings, pinot noir based wines and dry roses, grabbing interest all around. For example, for many years, Americans rejected most roses but white zin. But according to the Nielsen Company, roses priced $9 and up grew about 50% in dollars and volume over the year ending in February. It's just a great food wine and versatile drink especially in warm weather.. It's usually dry with crisp acidity, fresh fruit flavors and well balanced thirst quenching mouth feel. Select one of these great rose now available; Canto Perdrix Tavel $14.99, Commanderie de la Bargemone Coteaux d'Aix en Provence $15.99 and Patton Valley Pinot Noir Rose $15.99.

Tailgating??

I know it sounds strange but there's already talk about the U of M Football season coming up! I haven't even started to get the slice out of my golf swing yet. Is this new coach going to be the answer to National Championships? I've already got my tailgating needs in order. At Bello Vino Marketplace they've got tailgating coolers ranging from $100 to $300 that includes your cold beverages, all your grilling meats, chips, dips, sandwiches, desserts and anything that you'll probably forget about. It just makes it so much easier knowing you can just call ahead pick up your cooler and worry more about finding parking at the golf course or Pioneer High School.

Bug Juice

I am a fan of white wine and the sweeter the better. So, when I found Rinaldi Bug Juice made from Moscato d'Asti I was definitely intrigued. The wine guy pouring the Bug Juice told me it was like drinking from an adult juice box. Seriously, all I needed was a straw stuck in the bottle, and I would have been good to go. It was very sweet and very light. It is a mid priced bottle and I liked it so much I may take advantage of Bello Vino's case sale and give a bottle to my friends and family.
